What do I need to rent a trailer?

A valid driver's license, active auto insurance on your tow vehicle, a credit card for the refundable deposit, and a tow vehicle rated for the trailer's GVWR.

Do you offer same-day rentals?

Yes, when a trailer is available. The online booking page shows real-time availability. Same-day works best when placed early in the day.

How does the smart-lock pickup work?

Every trailer sits on a smart lock. At your reserved pickup time, we text you a code. You walk up, enter the code, unlock the coupler, hook up, and go — no meetup required.

Do you deliver trailers?

Delivery is available for weekly and monthly rentals across our service area. Self-service pickup from Kemp is always the cheapest option.

What's included with each trailer?

Straps, ramps where relevant, and — on the dump trailer — battery and tarp system. Every trailer is inspected between rentals.

Is the deposit refundable?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The deposit is refunded automatically when the trailer is returned on time and undamaged.

What tow vehicle do I need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the trailer. The 14ft dump and 20ft car hauler need a 3/4 or 1 ton truck rated for 14,000 lb. The 16ft enclosed and 20ft utility work behind a 1/2 ton with the correct hitch and 7-pin connector.

Can I extend my rental?

Yes, if the trailer isn't already booked for the next slot. Call us as soon as you know — extending in advance is easier than after the fact.

What if I damage the trailer?

Accepted Answer

Damage is deducted from your deposit or billed to the card on file. Your auto insurance may cover it — check your policy.

Do you allow one-way rentals?

No — trailers return to Kemp.
